Why OnShore Wind is folly and this will probably be deleted!
Part 1
We've seen the hype about onshore wind, now is the time to set the record straight.
#1 I doubt this group will exist for long here, as this site, despite allegedly being about a campaign to support renewables is actually funded and managed by Renewables UK
#2 Renewables UK is the reincarnation and renaming of BWEA, the British Wind Energy Authority, not a true 'Authoritative' body, actually the commercial PR arm of the wind industry, i.e. all those with a vested interest in spinning the myths about wind.
#3 Remember Windscale? That becasue of it's murky past set upon a comprehensive OPR campaign and name change to Sellafield, now the BWEA is on the same track.
Part 2 to follow:

Hi Matthieu,
#1 You're right to say this campaign is managed by RenewableUK - in fact, it says it on the 'About' page! We haven't hidden anything at all - on the front page you'll see our sponsors' logos. We're completely transparent about where the money is coming from.
#2 Actually, BWEA changed to RenewableUK because it's now a trade association that incorporates companies developing wave & tidal projects, as well as wind. It's no longer just an association of wind energy producers. Of course, you're free to believe whatever you wish about our motives.
We all have a 'vested interest' in promoting renewable energy - we all live on the same planet. It's true that RenewableUK's members do make some profit (nowhere near as much as the media would have you believe) from the wind farms they construct, but it's also true that an increasing proportion of new wind farms have at least one turbine that's owned by the local community - meaning local people get profits too. Look at the work of people like Energy4All to see how this is working across the country.
