I'd rather my wife made land mines than worked in the wind farm industry

It is unfortunate about  his wording “they can only ever possibly be economically viable with the help of massive  (and entirely unjustified) taxpayer subsidy.”

This could be interpreted as implying subsidy from tax. As we all know this is not the case – the “subsidy” of the RO is covertly  taken 100% from consumers’ bills – all consumers not just green tariff subscribers.

However it is certainly true that existing wind turbines would be bankrupt without the RO (now guaranteed to 2037!) and new ones would not be built without it, as Paul Golby, E.ON UK, said..

”For chapter and verse on why they are such an abomination, I must refer you to Dr John Etherington’s definitive book: The Wind Farm Scam, which explains in comprehensive and unarguable detail precisely why wind farms are one of the most inefficient forms of power generation since the human treadmill and why they can only ever possibly be economically viable with the help of massive (and entirely unjustified) taxpayer subsidy.”

Hi Matthieu,

We were actually quite pleased with the James Delingpole article - it's so over the top that it can't help but demonstrate how ridiculous some opponents of wind power are. John Etherington's book has been comprehensively debunked by Professor John Twidell, in an article which you can find on our site here:
