RenewableWorld
Renewable World and its partners fund and develop small scale renewable energy projects that tackle poverty in developing countries across East Africa, Central America and South Asia. Just a few of these are listed below:
Nicaragua Hybrid Wind-Solar Project
Their projects use a wide range of renewable technologies from micro hydro to wind and solar, whatever is most appropriate taking into acount the needs of the community and the resources available in the places where they work.
Renewable World believes that the best way to provide sustainable solutions to community development is to start with the people themselves. Building a strong partnership with the local community is an essential part of their work in order to respect the communities cultural values at the same time as developing a solution which meets the needs of the community.
In order to work closely with local communities, Renewable World works with non-governmental organisations who have a history of sucessfully implementing poverty reduction projects with local communities in developing countries including Practical Action, Blue Energy, Green Empowerment, Asofenix and Trocaire.
