Tony Juniper

Tony Juniper is a prominent and well-respected environmental campaigner. He speaks and writes on many aspects of sustainability, is the chair of the 10:10 climate change campaign and the editor of GREEN magazine. He is the author of several books, including the award winning Parrots of the World, Spix's Macaw and How Many Light Bulbs Does It Take To Change A Planet? He began his career as an ornithologist, working with Birdlife International. From 1990 he worked at Friends of the Earth and was the organisation's executive director from 2003-2008 and was the Vice Chair of Friends of the Earth International from 2000-2008. |
Alan Moore OBE

Alan has worked in the UK electricity industry for more than 40 years, holding a wide range of senior management posts. He was MD of National Wind Power Ltd from 1997 to 2004 during which time NWP was the UK's leading wind developer, owner and operator with 13 onshore wind farms. The Company developed and built the UK's first major offshore wind farm at North Hoyle and three wind farms in the USA. He is a former Chairman of the British Wind Energy Association, where he remains Board Member with lead responsibility for Marine technologies. |
Alan Whitehead MP

Alan has represented the constituency of Southampton Test since 1997, and is a prominent and outspoken campaigner on environmental matters. He sits on the Energy & Climate Change and Environmental Audit Parliamentary Select Committees, and chairs the Parliamentary Renewable and Sustainable Energy Group. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Waste Management, and member of the Board for The Environment Centre (Southampton) and the Centre for the Third Age (Southampton). He is a Visiting Professor in the Faculty of Media, Arts and Society at Southampton Solent University. |
Bill Oddie

William "Bill" Edgar Oddie OBE is an author, actor, comedian, artist, naturalist and musician. A birdwatcher since childhood, Oddie has a strong reputation as an ornithologist, conservationist and television presenter on wildlife issues. A national treasure, Bill Oddie was the star of the biggest comedy hit of the 70s - the Goodies. He was the UK's favourite wildlife presenter, regularly fronting Springwatch and Autumnwatch which had a daily audience of over 4 million viewers. |
Charles Kennedy

Charles has represented the constituency of Ross, Cromarty and Skye since 1983. In August 1999 he was elected as the Leader of the Liberal Democrats, a position in which he took the Liberal Democrats to their most successful election performance for some 80 years when they returned 62 MPs in May 2005. He stood down as Leader of the Party in January 2006. He is the author of The Future of Politics (2001) and is presently researching a project on youth and minority issues, arising from his period (2007) as a Visiting Parliamentary Fellow at St Antony's College, Oxford. |
Frances O'Grady

Frances became TUC Deputy General Secretary in January 2003, the first woman ever to hold this post. Frances has lead responsibility for a wide range of key areas of policy development across the TUC's work including trade union recruitment and organisation, inter-union relations and TUC services to members. Previously, Frances worked as the TUC Campaigns Officer coordinating the TUC-wide campaign for new rights for part-time workers, the No Sweat campaign on homeworking and the drive to end low pay. Before joining the TUC in 1994, Frances worked for the Transport and General Workers Union on social justice and equality issues. |
Maria McCaffery

Maria McCaffery was appointed Chief Executive of BWEA in June 2006. Prior to this she was Director General of the Institute of Export, and previously international Director at The British Chambers of Commerce. Both of these roles required close and regular contact with government, and she has also served on a succession of government advisory groups, including an ongoing role with UK Trade & Investment. She was awarded an MBE for services to British exporters in the 1999 New Year Honours. |

Sir Jonathon Porritt

Jonathon has been involved in environmental campaigning since 1974, and is a well-known advocate for sustainable development. He took the role of Director of Friends of the Earth in 1984, and set up Forum for the Future in 1996. He chaired the Sustainable Development Commission between 2000 and 2009 |
Stan Blackley

Stan is the Chief Executive of Friends of the Earth Scotland. He was appointed in 2011 following eleven years of running his own ethical campaigning communications consultancy, and has decades of experience in environmental campaigning. |
John Sauven

John Sauven is the executive director of Greenpeace UK. He started working for Greenpeace in the early 1990s, and has been involved in campaigns ranging from protecting Canadian rainforests through to banning underground nuclear testing in the Pacific. |
