About Action for Renewables
Action for Renewables is the campaign for the expansion of renewable energy in the UK - the key to reducing our carbon emissions and stopping global warming.
Vision
Our vision is of a future Britain powered in large part from clean, green and secure renewable energy sources, doing its part to combat dangerous climate change. We will build a strong and active coalition of renewables supporters, including ordinary people, environmental campaigners and the industry.
Mission
We exist to fight for the expansion of renewable energy, both at the local level and across the country.
Role
Our role is motivate, organise and activate support for renewables throughout the UK, helping to campaign for local projects and to work on issues facing renewables at the national level.
We will put the positive benefits of renewable energy, including environmental impact and energy security, before the public, and aim to dispel myths about its disadvantages. We seek to promote renewables, not to undermine other power sources in recognition of the role they may yet play in our future energy mix.
At all times, we will aim to ensure that the information we present to the public is based on a clear and accurate representation of the best available science. We will not knowingly make false or misleading claims about the advantages and disadvantages of renewables, or any other form of energy.
About Action for Renewables
Action for Renewables is an arms-length campaign of RenewableUK (formerly BWEA), the trade association for renewable energy suppliers in Britain. While it is sponsored by companies, the campaign itself is activist-led - The website provides the facilities for renewable energy supporters to campaign directly to their elected representatives, as well as organise campaigning events for themselves.
